National Park Biogradska Gora is located in the northeastern part of Montenegro, between the rivers Tara and Lim and in the central part of the mountain Bjelasica. Biogradska Gora National Park is the first National Park in Montenegro, established 1952. and covers an area of 5650 hectares. Protecting the magnificent natural areas of Biogradska Gora and Bjelasica started 1878. The significant efforts of Prince Nikola Petrovic for the preservation of the region, so that it enjoyed future generations.
Skadar Lake National Park was proclaimed in 1983. IBA status tj. The area of international importance for birds gains of 1989. From 1995. were enrolled on the Ramsar list - the List of Wetlands of International Importance. In the park there are special nature reserves: The monastery deed, Pančevo eye and Black grill.
